Health Literacy Handout
For people newly arrived to the U.S., navigating the health care system and finding the right resources can be challenging. Washington Poison Center recognizes the need for multilingual health literacy materials to support individuals with limited English proficiency.
After extensive interviews with community partners serving these populations, our education team created this handout to guide people on where to get their health needs met—whether that means calling 911, 988, the Washington Poison Center, or visiting their primary care provider, urgent care, or an emergency room.
Below, you’ll find this brochure translated into English and 22 additional languages. Please feel free to download, print, and share. If you have questions, comments, or would like to share your experience using this tool, please reach out to Justin Mauger at jmauger@wapc.org.
