Requesting Data

Washington Poison Center collects data on incoming calls received into our call center, with records dating back to 1999. This is self-reported data, and does not include records from hospital emergency rooms, public health districts, or the Department of Health.

Patient de-identified data is available on all types of  exposures, and can be stratified in numerous ways based on data selection criteria such as age, gender, substance(s) involved, type of exposure (dermal, ocular, etc.), reason for exposure, geographic identifiers, medical outcome, etc. All cases are coded according to NPDS recommended coding standards.

All data requests must be presented to Washington Poison Center using our data request form and are fulfilled at the discretion of Washington Poison Center. Fees associated with data requests will be provided after specifics of the data request are evaluated.

Data on incoming calls from other poison centers may be available upon request to Washington Poison Center or by contacting America’s Poison Centers.
