We are an AAPCC accredited center with a dedicated, well-trained and experienced staff. We have very low turnover, average staff retention is 15.5 years, and 98% of SPIs are certified (CSPIs). Our staff and leadership are active at the local, state and national level with public health and governmental partners, including emergency preparedness. We have very proactive and energetic educational departments, with educators in both Eastern and Western Washington, which are helping to improve our message to the community, as well as to the health care facilities.
We have a robust healthcare provider education program that includes medical students, medical residents/fellows, as well as nursing, pharmacy and paramedic students. WAPC encourages professional development and provides SPIs opportunities to be involved in educational, outreach, research, and legislative activities beyond their core responsibilities. In addition, we offer a Career Improvement Program that allows our SPIs to acquire and/or enhance their knowledge and skills in a particular area.
