Nail Polish

Symptoms: Patients can see nausea, vomiting, upset stomach and mouth/throat irritation with all solvents. Some solvents can make patient unresponsive and affect their breathing

What to do: If patient has no symptoms, give small snack and fluids to dilute, call Poison Center with bottle to discuss amount ingested and recommendations

Symptoms: Risk for redness/irritation and in severe cases, ocular injury

What to do: rinse the eye for 5 minutes, rest the eye for 1 hour away from bright lights, medicated drops, and additional rinsing. Call the Poison Center if any symptoms after resting.

Symptoms: risk for throat/respiratory irritation

What to do: May be helpful to inhale steam (warm shower, etc ) or get fresh air outside to help with symptoms
