Symptoms: May cause nausea, vomiting, or upset stomach. Large ingestions may cause confusion, decreased awareness, unconsciousness, and slowed/stopped breathing (similar to very large alcohol ingestions).

What to do: If patient has no symptoms, give small snack and fluids and call poison center (1-800-222-1222) with bottle information for more specific recommendations. Immediately contact the poison center if any symptoms are present.

Symptoms: Risk for redness/irritation and in severe cases, ocular injury.

What to do: Rinse eye for 5-10 minutes, then rest eye for 1 hour without additional rinsing, medicated eyedrops, or bright lights. Call the poison center (1-800-222-1222) for additional evaluation if any symptoms such as pain develop or persist after rinsing and resting the eye.

Symptoms Risk for throat/respiratory irritation and pain with exposure to strong alcohol

What to do: May be helpful to inhale steam (warm shower, etc) or get fresh air outside to help with symptoms.
