Hand Sanitizer

Antimicrobial hand rinses that contain an alcohol (ethanol or isopropyl alcohol) in high concentrations.

How toxic is it?

Hand sanitizer contains 2 to 3 times as much alcohol as distilled spirits (e.g., rum, vodka, whiskey), and can result in loss of consciousness and decreased breathing. Young children are at particularly high risk of developing low blood sugar.
