Cannabis flower/bud

How toxic is it?

Cannabis can have varying effects at different doses. The dried flower is primarily smoked or vaporized and generally by adults, teens, and adolescents. The dose is often more controlled versus ingested cannabis. There are some adverse effects that can occur like vomiting and psychosis.

If ingested

If inhaled

Symptoms: euphoria, fast heart rate, hunger, nausea; depends on dose, tolerance, and age.

Young children are unlikely to have the dexterity and functional ability to inhale from most devices.

What to do: assuming this was unintentional, the best thing is to keep the person safe. Do not let them drive, encourage small sips of water to stay hydrated, and keep an eye on them. Call the poison center for guidance specific to your issue.
