Sierra Ranier

With over a decade of executive leadership experience and deep financial acumen, Dr. Sierra Ranier focuses on strengthening Washington Poison Center’s  financial infrastructure and workforce while advancing organizational priorities aligned with its mission. She has been a key member of the leadership team for nearly eight years.

Dr. Ranier holds a Doctor of Business Administration with a research specialization in nonprofit sustainability, an MBA, an MA in Communication, and two undergraduate degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She also maintains a senior-level human resources certification (SHRM-SCP), supporting her leadership in people operations, organizational culture, and workforce development.

As a United States Army veteran, Dr. Ranier served as a Military Public Affairs Official, where she developed critical strengths in diplomatic relations, strategic multimedia communication, crisis messaging, and mission-focused public service.

In addition to her executive role, Dr. Ranier is part of the team of researchers behind the poison center’s applied work in health economics, nonprofit finance, and the cost savings associated with poison center services. This research plays a vital role in quantifying the value of poison centers to healthcare systems, insurers, and communities across Washington State.

Her professional interests include health economics, nonprofit finance, and operational models that enhance community benefit. She is dedicated to advancing effective, mission-driven public health services for communities throughout Washington.
