Health Alert: Counterfeit Ozempic 2025-04-16T17:13:02-07:00

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning people about fake Ozempic (semaglutide) injections. Ozempic is a medicine used to help adults with type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugar levels and lower the risk of serious heart problems.

On April 3, Novo Nordisk (the makers of Ozempic) Novo Nordisk reported to the FDA that several hundred fake Ozempic injection pens were discovered in the U.S. drug supply. These fake products were not distributed through Novo Nordisk’s official supply chain. The FDA seized these counterfeit products on April 9, 2025.

So far, six people have reported health problems related to this batch, but none appear to be directly linked to the fake products. The FDA and Novo Nordisk are still testing the seized items to learn more about their safety and quality.

What You Should Do:

  • Check your Ozempic pens. Do not use, sell, or share any pens labeled with lot number PAR0362 and serial numbers starting with 51746517 (see below image).
  • Only buy Ozempic from pharmacies that are licensed and get their supply from Novo Nordisk’s authorized distributors.
  • If you find a fake or tampered medicine, call us at 1-800-222-1222 or report it to the FDA.

If you have any side effects or issues after using Ozempic, call us right away: 1-800-222-1222
