In an Emergency
- Remain calm
- Remove the animal from danger / remove poison from its reach
- Bring container to the phone
- Call the poison center at 1-800-222-1222 (due to budget cuts, all animal calls are subject to a $45 fee)
- Be ready to give the full name of the product, animal type, weight and age
- Poison Center staff will tell you what to do for your pet

Alternative sources for animal poison information and help can be found at:

24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year. A $65 consultation fee may apply.
- National Pesticide Information Center (NPIC) 1-800-858-7378
Open from 6:30am to 4:30pm Pacific time, daily.
They will transfer the call to the National Animal Poison Center free of charge in an emergency.
